Sierra Leone’s trusted marketplace, jobs board, and business directory — in your pocket.
SaloneConnect is a mobile platform built for Sierra Leone and its diaspora. It brings three things that usually live scattered across WhatsApp groups and Facebook pages into one trusted app: a marketplace where people buy and sell, a jobs board where employers and jobseekers meet, and a directory of local businesses — designed from the start for low-end Android phones, patchy connections, and how the country actually works.
Trust is the product. Marketplace sellers are vouched for by members through the MamiKoka verification system, and payments are designed around local reality — mobile money for people in Sierra Leone, cards for the diaspora. On the jobs side, SaloneConnect has grown into a complete hiring platform: employers post jobs with screening questions, applicants apply with a résumé built in the app or uploaded and parsed into the standard format, and hiring teams run the full pipeline — shortlists, scorecards, interviews, and offers — with push notifications at every step, and WhatsApp contact when both sides agree to share it.
For jobseekers, the résumé system matters most: anyone can build a clean, professional résumé inside the app — no laptop, no Word file — and every application goes out in that same trusted format, the model proven by Careers.sl, the country’s biggest jobs platform. SaloneConnect is in active development and shipping in stages: marketplace and jobs first, the full employer suite now in the app, and payments and launch hardening next.
